What is Your Legacy?

Updated: Jun 19, 2024

What will your imprint be in the sands of time? What will your legacy be? Where will your eternal destiny be? You are writing the script and answering those questions now.

You may feel pretty secure with the question about your eternity. You may comfort yourself by saying, "I prayed the sinners prayer once. I'm fine". Really? What does your life look like now? Don't be fooled. You can't embrace ungodliness and inherit Heaven. "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he also will reap" (Galatians 6:7).

Many will be shocked on that day when we stand before God to hear Him say, "Depart from Me, I never knew you..." (Matthew 7:23). How incomprehensibly horrible that would be — the day all blinders are removed — when everything is laid bare — when all deception is swept away — when all truth is revealed — when our lives lie naked before God — to find out you missed Heaven. Eternity is a long time.

I pray you never hear those terrible words to depart from God forever into everlasting fire and outer darkness. Only God can keep us close to His heart. It's only because of His love, kindness, grace, and mercy — not by any good things we have done — that we are promised a forever home with the King of kings and Lord of lords.

I want the best for you. So, I'm going to ask you some tough questions. Do you lie? Steal? Is there adultery in your heart? Do you lust after others? Is there porn in your life? Do you cheat on your spouse? Do you use God's Name as a curse word? Do you love money more than God? Honestly look at what you have given your heart to. Is it worth missing Heaven for?

Ezekiel 18:24 is a scary warning from God we are wise to pay attention to... "But when the righteous turns away from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All his righteousness that he has done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he has trespassed, and in his sin that he has sinned, in them shall he die." If that isn't a wake up call I don't know what is.

God does not want you to be lost. He loves you with an everlasting love -- but He will not force you to live a godly life. He lets you make your own choices.

I recommend you repent of all sin and give your heart 100% to Him -- no holding on to pet sins. Give God the key to the door of Your heart. Ask Him to guard it from evil. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall you call upon me, and you shall go and pray unto me, and I will listen unto you. And you shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. And I will be found of you, says the LORD..." Jeremiah 29:11-14

Here is a suggestion for a prayer to commit your life 100% to God. Please do not pray this prayer unless you want to fully follow God. LORD Jesus, I repent of all sin. I ask You to cleanse my heart and create in me a clean heart. Please do not cast me away from Your Presence. I give you my heart all of it 100%. You hold the key. Help me live for You. Thank You, LORD.

God loves you. If you prayed that prayer (or your own words) He will forgive and cleanse you. Read your Bible daily it is your Spiritual bread. Talk to God about everything. He loves you. He will be with you until the end of your time on earth. Trust Him. "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9). Choose wisely. You are currently writing your legacy that will determine your destiny — and will perhaps influence the destiny of those who follow you. Blessings, Beloved of God.
